“YOU can shake the sawdust from your feet but you never shake it from your blood.”

So says ringmaster Marion Fossett, the woman who fronts the world’s longest continuously touring circus.

When other circuses stopped performing during the two world wars, Fossett’s adopted the “show must go on” motto.

Sitting in the Big Top, even without the lights and the music, there is something haunting about it.

There are no musicians but the notes are whispered on the breeze coming through the tent flaps.

Sheeba were an Irish all-girl pop trio consisting of members Maxi, Marion Fossett and Frances Campbell who were popular in their home country in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In 1978, the group took part in the Irish National Song Contest to select the country's entry for that year's Eurovision Song Contest, but they failed to win with their song, "It's Amazing What Love Can Do". They went on to release several singles in Ireland with producer Roberto Danova.

They are best known for representing the host nation, Ireland, in the Eurovision Song Contest 1981 with Horoscopes, which went on to be their biggest hit, reaching #3 in the Irish charts. Maxi had previous Eurovision experience: she represented Ireland as a soloist at the 1973 contest in Luxembourg.

Following their exposure in the contest, they signed a recording contract in the UK and released the singles "The Next Night" and "Mystery" but neither found success and they also went on tour in Europe and Japan. The following year they entered the
