En su juventud, estuvo interno en el colegio jesuitaLa Providence de Amiens. Tras conseguir el diploma de Baccalauréat en Lille, inició estudios de derecho en Grenoble, que pronto abandonó.[1]​

Se hizo publicitario en 1982 pero abandonó la empresa donde trabajaba para fundar en 2004, con su mujer Dana Philp, su propia agencia de publicidad, Quelle Belle Journée, con la que firmó contratos con marcas como Sephora, Appel, GO Sport, Caudalie, Folio (Gallimard), Taittinger, Crozatier, Directours, Unilever...[1]​
