Ishawna Natalie Smith (Born on 1986 September 29) is a Jamaican singer and Dj. Ishawna wrote her first song at the age of six and recording her first track at the age of eight. She become famous has part of the formable dancehall crew Alliance which is spread headed by one of the worlds greatest dancehall artist Bounty Killa. She release her collaboration with Demarco ‘For You’ (2008), two big hits with dancehall energy god Elephant man ‘Take It’ and ‘Give It To Me’ (2009).
Follow her sting with the Alliance she sign a new sponsorship deal with Lime, the Caribbean’s leading telecommunications company (2011) and later signed a recording deal with DownSound Records (DSR) CEO, Joe Bogdanovich, (2012).
Her latest singles “Vroom Vroom” , “Oola La la” and “Cheerful Giver” have been receiving airplay up until to-date, while her videos, “Cheerful Giver” and “Restraining Order” are being featured on MTV.com , with “Cheerful Giver” also in the top ten on the Tempo Network Cross Caribbean

Born on September 29 in Kingston, Jamaica, Ishawna has been making music as long as she can remember. She has memories of penning her first song at the age of six and recording her first track at the age of eight. Ishawna went through various incarnations, singing a mix of gospel, rhythm and blues, and dancehall. “I’m a musical chameleon,” Ishawna boldly proclaims. Her early musical aptitude is not surprising when one considers the musical background of her father, Don Angelo – a signer who worked alongside legendary producer King Jammy in the 80’s.

Ishawna is simply a cut above the rest. The young singer grew up between Seaview Gardens in Kingston and Brooklyn, New York honing her unique ability to move effortlessly between gorgeous RnB and gully Dancehall. The daughter of rub-a-dub crooner Don Angelo, Ishawna penned her first song at six years old and laid down her first recording at eight. Nearly two decades later she’s still writing her own powerful music.
On her return to Kingston from New York in 2005 Ishawna met producer and sound system operator Foota Hype. Under his tutelage she found herself performing across Jamaica. After performing in Kingston’s legendary Asylum nightclub in 2006, Bounty Killer immediately demanded that Ishawna become the first lady of his Alliance crew. In 2008 she broke out as a name to watch with her Demarco collaboration “For You.” Two hit tracks with Elephant Man followed and she quickly became an underground sensation. She’s been putting in heavy work ever since.
