Of Indian origin, Stjiv S. Chahil has been the Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing, and General Manager of Entertainment, New Media Internet Division, Apple Computer (http://www.apple.com) since 1996.
His over twenty years of experience have been gained in leading computer companies, including 13 years at IBM and Xerox. Chahil founded the New Media division in January of 1993 and also took over the leadership of Europe's marketing organization.
He has studied and worked both in Europe and in America, and was awarded a Masters in International Management from the American (Thunderbird) Graduate School of International Management.
He has promoted the creation of innovative programs on the Internet, including several for children, and was the chief architect of the "Hakone Forum", held in the summer of 1992 in Japan. Early life and education
Chahil was born in Amritsar, India on October 19, 1950 to Pritam Singh Chahil (father) and Champa Chahil (née Dugal) (mother). Pritam Singh was a member of the Indian hockey contingent to the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. He was a publisher, public service worker, and an educationist. He also initiated and funded the development of the first automatic Punjabi languagetypesetting machine. Pritam Singh is recognized for his Roman alphabet English language transliteration of the entire Sri Guru Granth Sahib.[2] Chahil studied at The Lawrence School, Sanawar, India, earning the Indian School Certificate (administered by the University of Cambridge) in 1967.
