He served at all levels, including Assistant Division Commander 2nd Infantry Division and Commander of Task Force Eagle, Multinational division, Bosnia. He has commanded at all levels, culminating as FORSCOM Commander for the Army. He was the fourth African-American to have received the fourth star and first from an HBCU.
